Our May Artist in Focus is Alison Dickin Botanical Artist


Originally from Shropshire, UK, Alison studied at Shrewsbury Art School and completed a BA (Hons) Degree in Textile Design from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, UK. She taught knitwear at Huddersfield Polytechnic before going on to work for a London design studio.

After migrating to Australia in 1998, she settled in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales.

Alison works mainly in watercolour but recently has introduced coloured pencil into her work.  

She is a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia, editor of the societies newsletter and features work at their annual exhibition at the Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens.
